3. Francesco Rosario Capra (1897 – 1991)

Born in Bisacquino, Sicily, a village near Palermo, immigrated with his family to the United States (Los Angeles) when he was 5 years old. He sold newspapers, worked through college playing banjo at nightclubs, working at the campus laundry facility, waiting tables, and cleaning engines at a local power plant, joined the US Army, wrote books and, eventually, became a movie Director and fought during WWI under George C. Marshall

3. You Can’t Take It with You (1938)
4. Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939)
5. Meet John Doe (1941)
6. It’s a Wonderful Life (1946)
