Painter born in Palermo, after his apprenticeship, in 1824 Lo Forte obtained from the City of Palermo a scholarship to study painting in Rome. In 1830, he returned to his hometown, where he produced his masterpieces, led the Royal Academy of Arts, and established himself as a prominent portrait painter.
